Request for optional Lex_BracketBG CFont & Styles

*.cuda-theme-syntax currently allows to set the following style:

  "Lex_BracketBG": {
    "Type": 1,
    "Styles": "b",
    "CFont": "#CCCCCC",
    "CBack": "#000000",
    "CBorder": "",
    "Border": "0,0,0,0"
  },

This may change the color of keywords in languages like Python or Lua. Example: (notice the silver color)

When switching between lines, a change of color is distracting. I would like to have CFont optional such that the keyword color and font style is not overwritten. Instead, the background or border style could be used to highlight the scope.

Known good: 1.176.1.0-1
Known bad: 1.219.0.2-1

Side note: In Lua, these highlights are inconsistent: do, if and end but not for or then. This probably belongs to another issue.

Thank you for this compact and yet versatile editor. I've been using it for years without ever running into any instability issue.

you can change this. to 2...3. one of valyes means "backgnd color only". you can change it by hands or by configure-lexer-theme-dialog.

@Alexey-T I found this option in both places. I would like to change everything but the colors.
EDIT: Or does that option exist too, and I simply missed it? e.g. "Type": -1 ?

you want to change backgnd color of brackets? if so you need to change that option to "backgnd color only". it must tell app to change only backgnd.

Sorry but it seems you have misunderstood my request. I am well aware that I can change the background color. My request is have a way to keep the style of the other lexer colors (i.e. the foreground color) and apply styles optionally on top of it.

An example. This is what I can currently do: (color=red, font=bold, border=dashed bottom)

This is what I would like to use: (color=unchanged, font=bold, border=dashed bottom)

I did not get notification so the delay. of reply.
seems, you cannot get what you want in 1st picture. Cud cannot have color style which makes only dashed bottom and keeps font/back colors. Lex_BracketBG style can apply

• font color / back color / dashes
• or: back color only (if you change 'type' to 'backgnd only')

but it cannot apply dashes only.

this all is lexer (Lua) config. you can try to reconfigure the lexer (see the wiki how to edit lexers in SynWrite). it is not simple. so I don't plan to change it. you may try to make local copy of lexer (named Lua_ for example) and edit the lexer. tutorials:

Alright. Thank you for your time and the documentation link. I'll try to wrap my head around the lexer and attempt improve the highlighting.
