CSI to HDMI adapter

Hi all, I have just bought a pair of CSI to HDMI cable adapters from ThePiHut to use with my HQ camera module. I have the allsky system up and running but the live view isn't showing an image, it just shows a think black band across the screen with the ALT image icon at the left side. If I click to go full screen I just get a full black screen. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with these adapters and if there are any settings to be changed when using HDMI. Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer.

Quick update, I have confirmed that the adapters work by doing the following in the command line. rpicam-jpeg --output hdmitest.jpg
I have viewed the resulting image so I know it works. Is there a setting in AllSky that requires change for it to work. It isn't saving any night time images or giving a live view.

I have only used this one https://www.arducam.com/product/10-meter-cable-extension-kit-2/ which worked fine.

Are you running the latest OS, and version of Allsky

Hi Alex, no it is the CSI to HDMI adapter and no I am testing it on the previous version of the software.

Are you saying that rpicam-jpeg shows a correct picture but Allsky doesn't? That would be very strange.
If that's true, change your Debug Level in the WebUI to 3, then run tail -f /var/log/allsky.log. You should see a "Running ..." line for every image. Copy one of the commands to the clipboard, then run:

sudo systemctl stop allsky
# Paste the command into a window - does it give a valid image?
sudo systemctl start allsky

The command you pasted is exactly what Allsky is running so the results from it and from Allsky should be identical.
Also try running grep ERROR /var/log/allsky.log.

Hi Eric, I will try as you suggest and report back. Here is a screen grab from HTOP on the pi this morning whilst trying to see what might be happening. You can see that it time's out due to no preview, is that right? or is the --nopreview a argument on the rpicam?

--timeout 1 --nopreview are just 2 of the dozen or so arguments to libcamera-still. HTOP isn't showing the other arguments.

Sorted, it was the cable. What is it with me and cables??? Thanks for all the help.
