Using V4A version 2.7.2.1 on MIUI 14

Good day. I've recently started using ViPER4Android to boost my sound experience on my (bluetooth) headphones. I noticed the sound lag problem when I'm trying to read the lyrics of a song on Spotify. Whenever the master limiter is turned off, the headphones have very minimal latency and I can follow the lyrics just fine. However, when the master limiter is on, the headphones are lagging around half a second to a full 2 seconds so the lyric mismatch to the audio was very noticeable.

Is this by design, and if so is there a way to counteract this lag? Thanks!
