Since v0.23 or v0.24, my AsteroidOS android app can not connect to any of my watches

I have a Fairphone FP3+, running /e/ OS 1.4 (Android 10).

Since the update of AsteroidOSSync

  1. When I open AsteroidOSSync, my Bluetooth is not automatically switched on any more
  2. When the app finds a watch, it does not display the watch name, there is no text, just the line below where the watch name should be

If I touch the empty space where the watch name should be, I am taken to a disconnected page. See screenshots.

I have tested this with my Asteroid watchers: Bass, Sturgeon, Dory, and Skipjack

This exact error was reported for 0.23, occurring on android 10 and lower. #171 (comment)
0.24 was supposed to fix this and i could test successfully on Stock Android 9 and 10.
#172

Are you sure to have tried 0.24 explicitly?

@eLtMosen ah sorry you are right, I was on 0.23 which unfortunately is the latest version offered in the /e/ OS App Lounge.

I was able to grab 0.24 from Fdroid and test it. I was able to connect to Sturgeon OK so that seems fixed

However the app still does not turn on my Bluetooth to me. I need to turn on Bluetooth manually and then the app will find the watch

I think that is indeed a new issue. Shall we close this one and make a new BT related one?

@megamaced can you check if 0.25 from F-Droid solves the issue for you?
