On a Stats page in the WordPress.com Dashboard at Stats

I am testing the date picker in order to try to select a one week period.
Intuitively, I imagine that I can:

  1. Click 'Custom Range'
  2. Pick my starting date
  3. Pick my ending date

The path to doing so, is inconsistent in how to make this selection

Firstly, when I select 'Custom Range' it is not evident that this is the selection enforced, until I click on a day.
Once I do, I thought I could click on the first date, then click on the second date, and the date picker will intuitively assume that the first date I choose is the starting date and the second one I click on is the ending date.

It continues to default to the first date, for selection, so that I am unsure how to get a 'range' but I am already in 'Custom Range' at that point.

In the video above, I was able to, at some point to just select first, then second date, to get a range, but I was not able to identify why this happened suddenly, when it was not happening at first.
