Fundamentals, training and community alignment

Onboarding new trainees and volunteers is a big challenge for us. At the curriculum level this may include goals such as:

• explaining the top level goals of the curriculum
• explaining how to use the curriculum effectively
  etc.
  Previously we've discussed how Fundamentals should be a time and space for the community to learn about CYF and to understand how to self-organise on Saturday classes. We need to address several questions together so we can figure out our next steps

After attending fundamentals, is it clear to new volunteers and trainees how to organise a Saturday class?

We also have ITD and potentially DLP as staging grounds for culture building.

No, but I am not sure it's just about the organisation of the Saturday class. They don't understand the Curriculum, When to do what, etc.

I would hope so since we say it every week LOL but we didn't have the module criteria so maybe it will be better now.

After attending fundamentals, can trainees figure out when they need to prepare for a class

Right now, no. Or rather, it is made clear but the consequences are not clearly or reliably enforced.

I think Rhythm of the week is key for getting us all in the habits of prep, but there's also something around stopping class day turning into "catching up" or teaching the prep.

PS: The WM5 team asked for something VERY clear about prepping in the first class. Not everyone understood the importance of it (it's an action of their community health exercise in my name :D )
