Define it
Trainees need to understand the importance of preparation within the flipped classroom model. They also need to understand the consequences of not preparing, i.e. they won't understand what they're doing, and ultimately, they probably won't get a job.
Exemplify it?
Volunteers need to understand that they aren't responsible for volunteers not preparing. It is the responsibility of the trainees. So strategies like halting the course because people haven't prepared are not good - they send the message that preparation isn't mandatory and there are no consequences for failing to prepare during the week.
Explain it
The current Fundamentals section of the course needs to adequately emphasise the importance of preparation. We need to address this in the Fundamentals content as early as possible. Resources like Rhythm of the week will also help to reinforce this concept.
🧭 Suggest strategies
Update the Fundamentals section of the course so workshops and training provide greater clarity on the importance of preparation.
