So they dont keep showing confusing message like "shut down due to incomplete structure" and "shut down due to machine damage" when placed.

It can be useful to have them start turned on when placed, since it can speed up setting up arrays of machines if you place the controllers last

You still need to wirecutter/screwdriver/etc rightclick controllers after placing them. it's just another soft mallet step

How about doing something like, "when placed, do one structure check, if that succeeds try to start, otherwise remain stopped without an error message"?
