We had problems and breakdowns with our services after the last INSPIRE schema updates (2024.1 and 2024.2). The services affected were those that reference schemas that have been changed under the current URL, e.g. PLU and GE-CORE.
we have evaluated your proposal to provide the current version of the schemas in a versioned directory (in addition to the main one), which will help in the internal management of harmonized datasets, and we have decided to approve it.
The directory with the current version of the schemas will be available soon, either with a hotfix release or in the next official release, 2025.1.
Hello,
We had problems and breakdowns with our services after the last INSPIRE schema updates (2024.1 and 2024.2). The services affected were those that reference schemas that have been changed under the current URL, e.g. PLU and GE-CORE.
We are currently considering referencing the versioned schemas in order to have stable XSD versions. For example, https://inspire.ec.europa.eu/schemas/2024.1/ge-core/4.0/GeologyCore.xsd would then be referenced instead of https://inspire.ec.europa.eu/schemas/ge-core/4.0/GeologyCore.xsd. Unfortunately, there is no versioned directory for the current release (2024.2) where the schemas are stored unchanged. This is quite common for other software products.
Is such a directory planned? That would make things a lot easier for us.
I would also be interested to know whether there have been problems elsewhere and whether there is also a need for this elsewhere.
Best regards
Antje
