https://nextjs.org/docs/app/building-your-application/upgrading/version-15 has come out. we should upgrade to it as it's now the stable version.

ok, actually, I don't think we should update for a bit. nextjs 15 uses react 19 RC, not the production version. this also means that other libraries we use are not quite compatible with react 19.
