Road map question - MQTT Discovery

Good morning! Thanks for all you do for this project. I was curious if the migration from sensor based mqtt discovery to device based discovery for HomeAssistant was on the road map? In a thread that I'm a part of with regards to performance issues with large integrations loading, one of the developers made comment about this being one of the methods they added to help improve performance.
