Where groups are stored now?

I read this changelog advice:

Removed configuring group members through configuration.yaml (groups.devices setting). This will not impact current group members; however, you will no longer be able to add or remove devices from a group through the configuration.yaml

but there isn't any reference of WHERE are stored now.
It seems those are defined only under the "/bridge" MQTT topic but it means that if I reinstall Mosquitto, or manually clear all topics, I'll LOOSE ALL groups!!

Am I wrong?

They were always stored in the database, you will not lose your groups because of this.
