It would be nice to know why programming the bitfile to the EG4S20 FPGA via USB-JTAG takes a couple of minutes.
The bitfile is only one or two megabytes in size and even with the ultra low default speed of 400 Kbit/s for JTAG in the TD IDE programming should be much faster than what I experience.
I have tried programming in Ubuntu and Fedora, both native and using a VM, the programming time is roughly the same in all cases.
