Using variable rather than url for ol-source

I have an secure endpoint where the geo data is being stored. However as far as I can understand, the only way to insert data into ol-source-vector or ol-source-webglpoints (as an eg) is by a url property.

eg.

      <ol-source-vector ref="earthquakes"
        url="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/openlayers/openlayers/main/examples/data/kml/2012_Earthquakes_Mag5.kml"
        :format="kml">
      </ol-source-vector>

Other egs where they call a function still only returns a url string

Is there a way to use a variable that can be updated via an axios call in a method, rather than the url property?
