Hi, I am not surprised it uses quite some battery, but maybe there are some tipps how to reduce that?

While recording, is the sound compressed in some way?

I don't think so, I can see if there are some ways to reduce battery usage.

I have the same problem on my pixel 5.
is maybe a specific encoder less hungry?
