All questions or discussions about the LISF software should be done on the "Discussions" tab on GitHub. Please use: https://github.com/NASA-LIS/LISF/discussions
First, please use the box in the upper left to "Search all discussions". Your question may already be answered!
Please search twice, with "Filter" set to "Open" - then search again with "Filter" set to "Closed". (Or "Filter" set to "All").
If you don't find an answer to your question, you can click on the green "New discussion" box in the upper right.
This screenshot shows the location of the "Search", "Filter", and "New discussion" boxes:
When opening a discussion, please choose the best category: https://github.com/NASA-LIS/LISF/discussions/new/choose
Most questions should use the "Q & A" category, so the community can track when the question is "Answered".
The general guideline for using "Discussions", "Issues", and "Pull Requests" is:
Hey, I’m having this problem - Or - How do I do this?
-------> First, search Discussions (both "Open" and "Closed"). If your answer is not found - Open up a Discussion
OK, after some discussion with the LIS team, it's been determined that something is not right in the code, and should be fixed:
-------> Open up an Issue
Hey, I have a fix for an issue:
-------> Open up a Pull Request
Full contribution guidelines are available here: https://github.com/NASA-LIS/LISF/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md
External LIS users should first search/start a "Discussion" before attempting to list an "Issue" or submit a "Pull Request".
