ERA5 Workflow

Hi All,
Is there documentation of a current working workflow for using ERA5 as the primary forcing dataset? In the past we've made it work as a secondary forcing, and there was discussion of generating domain-specific land-sea masks on modeling guru, but I'm not sure what the current best practice is for working with ERA5.
