In (Martin's) CMIP6 "data request" there are valid min/max values specified in at least some tables, but there don't appear to be any max/min values defined in the CMOR tables. Check, for example, near surface temperature (tas) in the amon table. Martin specifies valid min/max as 170/350 and o.k._min/max_mean_abs as 255/295. We need to ingest all of the max/min values to CMOR tables.

I looked everywhere in Martin's table and cannot find this.

I found this in an XML file called dreqSupp.xml which was never ingested in my database. I will take me 1 month of work to get that in. I have to convert this to SQL and then make a new query again.

@taylor13 any news about this. This is mostly linked to https://github.com/PCMDI/cmip6-cmor-tables and not PrePARE.

I agree this is something that CMOR needs to check, but let's hold off for now.

@taylor13 are we going to get min/max values for more variables?

@mauzey1 thanks for migrating this, I wonder while we're extracting the min/max if there are any other entries that you think would also be useful to collect?
