NOTE: This beta has been reported to crash on CPUs without AVX support. If you are using such a CPU, please wait for the next beta, which will be released as soon as we have found and eliminated the cause of the problems.

This is beta 5 for version 3.7.1 of POV-Ray.

With this build we've restored most of the performance lost during earlier development of POV-Ray 3.7.1 in user-defined functions (and thus isosurfaces) as well as some patterns with special turbulence handling. Between the migration to VS 2015 and the AVX2/FMA3-specific optimized noise, this now gives us a nice net speed boost on modern Windows systems compared to 3.7.0.

This is beta 4 for version 3.7.1 of POV-Ray.

With this build we've restored full compatibility with Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 (or so we think), while at the same time extending the performance improvements of beta.3 to the 32-bit binaries.

Note: To be able to improve performance of the 64-bit binaries, we have decided to limit support for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 to the 32-bit binaries from now on. Since the installer was not updated in time to reflect this, users of x64 editions of such legacy systems may need to manual edit the links and file type assignments to point to pvengine32-sse2.exe instead of pvengine64.
