suggestion for improvement:
Place the first two columns vertically and at the top of each entry.
(Create more space for the actual text.)
Allow formatting such as bold and italics etc.
And make more distance between the elements

To keep things in order, please create a separate issue for being able to format text in list notes, since this is a much bigger, unrelated topic.

I agree the drag and checkbox could be moved to the top of each list item.

About stacking the drag and checkbox on top of each other, I dont know if that is a good idea, I think it can get quite annoying accidentally missclicking on the checkbox instead of dragging etc. In your example it might be useful, but usually you dont have list items with such long texts, in most cases it will be a few words per item.
Apps like Google Keep also have the drag and checkbox next to each other:
