android: program won't open notes after toggling setting "store data on external storage" #213
Comments
Hi, usually all the app's data is stored in an internal, not easily accessible location on your device, toggling this setting moves the internal database to an externally accessible location: So if I understand correctly you

Ah funny, I thought by "External Storage" it meant "SD Card", because generally data\data is referred as "root" I guess, and Android\media as "Internal Storage"and since I don't have SD Slot on my Pixel 4a, I didn't enabled this option. Actually I'll do it then. |
If you click on the setting there is a text describing what is meant by external/internal storage. But the only real use case for this is if you want to sync or backup your notes (which is effectively a SQLite Database file) via something like foldersync or similar, because these cant access the app's internal |
Yes the text is pretty clear, I didn't read it because of my assumption. |
What happened?
Hi,
i've been using this program for maybe six weeks? something like 10 - 15 files.
while trying to see if i could make the information i have created in NotallyX more accessible (to other programs and devices), i saw this setting. since there isn't external storage (as i understand it) connected with the phone, i was confused. as soon as i turned it off, the program decided that all of the files already created were dead to it. the media/com.philkes.notallyx still exists, and there's stuff in it, but ... i'd like help accessing the stuff.
suggestions?
as you can surely sympathize, it's frustrating not to be able to access things when it's important to.
thanks!
i don't know how github works, but would love if we could find a way to access the info today.
