Browser and Add-ons:

  • Browser: Firefox 56.0.2
  • RequestPolicy version: 1.0.beta13.2.2128.r67d9fd50e.pre
  • Default policy: "deny"
  • Pre-release is shown as old addon-type in "about:addons"

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install above add-on
  2. Restart Firefox
  3. Open URL https://github.com/RequestPolicyContinued/requestpolicy/issues
  4. Click on the RPC Icon to open its UI

What happens?

The RPC UI is displayed as this screenshot, nothing is clickable:

version_1 0 beta13 2 2128 r67d9fd50e pre

Mitigation

Downgrade to version 1.0.beta13.2.2106.r3a96ef0aa.pre
The UI is displayed and working as expected, even across a firefox restart:

version_1 0 beta13 2 2106 r3a96ef0aa pre

I cannot reproduce the issue. I always used, as you said, Version 1.0.beta13.2.2128.r67d9fd50e.pre. I've tested on 52.6.0, 56.0b9 (dev edition) and 56.0.2, all on linux.

  1. are you using linux, too?
  2. please try to reproduce in a new browser profile:

  1. I am using Mac OSX High Sierra
  2. I am not able to reproduce with a new browser profile and I am also unable to reproduce with my default profile when I switched back. I don't like heisenbugs ... bah

If noone else can reproduce then I think this can be closed then.
