First time setup uploading 2 notes made 2 separate GDrive folders

I have 2 notes:

I followed setup:

• pasted token
• made sure the vault was empty and enabled the plug-in
• restarted Obsidian
• drag-and-dropped in the 2 pre-existing notes from Finder into the Obsidian GUI to put them back
• clicked Push to Google Drive

For some reason it made 2 folders with the same name, and each has 1 of my notes. I would have expected them to be in a single folder?

I made a third empty note in Obsidian as a test, pushed it again, and it populated into 1 of the 2 existing folders.

Using a new vault, I reproduced the issue a second time with the same 2 notes, but it switched which file entered the folder by itself.
Using yet another new vault, I reproduced the issue a third time, with the same 2 notes, even after renaming to note1.md and note2.md.

Here is an example of the folder structure I get:
Folder 1 "Obsidian Vault - OGD"

• .obsidian
• Empty 3rd note.md
• Assorted Chinese Vocab (CV).md

Folder 2 "Obsidian Vault - OGD"

• Kevin's Learning Mandarin Notes.md
