So, due to me testing something for GT6 (i always have a fresh self-compiled Et Futurum Requiem installed), I noticed that I could not force Zombies to equip Armor using a Dispenser, like one would be able to in later Vanilla.
The Mechanic is quite simple, regardless of the Undead picking up Armor by themselves or not, the Dispenser can force an Undead to equip Armor and then no longer despawn.
This is especially useful if you want a Sun-proof Zombie Army and have a bunch of Carved Pumpkins in a Dispenser, which will then force each Zombie in front of it to wear the Pumpkin (or any other Armor Piece). And as I said, once the Armor has been equipped, the Zombie wont despawn anymore, just like when using Name Tags.
It also works on Armor Stands, and has been used by several Redstoners to make an Armor Sorter.
Speaking of Pumpkins and Dispensers: Iron Golems, Snow Golems and Withers should be able to be spawned using a Dispenser too, just like in Vanilla. Yes I saw to what catastrophes this could lead, if you screw up a Nether Star Farm.
I did not test if this particular Feature exists in Et Futurum Requiem already, though, but I assume since Zombies cant be equipped with Armor, this also does not exist yet.
