access websites / torrent sites via proxy

many people have country wide restrictions and more common challenge for connectivity to web properties

feature would allow
settings page area for connectivity.
dialog requires server type (e.g. sock 5, sock 4), address, port, optional authentication username/password (similar to utorrent network connection proxy server settings)
all connections then conducted via that proxy only

additional items
test connection, test authentication
indicator that proxy in use
message/indicator if proxy connection fails

non mvp
select per series / per site (probably too much)

it would be nice, but the reality is that there is no one currently in the team that has the time to invest on such a feature.
i'll add it to the list, but i don't expect any movement on this.

however, you can still achieve what you are looking for by using Jackett, which duckietv has already got an API for.
I think Jackett supports most of the things you have mentioned.

no need to add a proxy to dtv, use the browsec plugin in your browser and one of the versions of dtv for the browser only. i stopped using the desktop app altogether. between browsec for the browser and the encryption in my torrent client i stopped getting infringement notices for "the last ship". which always pissed me off since i get the channel so by law am entitled to download a copy for personal use.
