From observing people using the app for the first time, I noticed they immediately tried scrolling up and down and didn't "get" the scrubbing interaction.
Because the app is gesture based and relies on user data (that they might not have immediately), would it be possible to provide a very quick interactive demo to show off what an idealized schedule would look like?
Imagine the app the way it is now, with tooltips to show off the different gestures and fake data to show off a busy day. When the user is done (or skips) they would be presented with their real schedule.
I think this would familiarize the user with the various different features/gestures as well as show them the potential of the app, as opposed to seeing an empty schedule the first time they open the app, and dismissing it forever.
