I am making scratchanalytics using scratchattach when scratch cloud servers come back online. I want ideas on what analytics should I collect?

Features:

• Usernames
• View duration
• User IDs
• View times
• Timezones
• Browser
• Popularity (average number of followers of each viewer) (maybe)
• Star and love graphs

that's not what scraping is

scraping is going to a website programmatically using selenium or puppeteer or some other browser program and then going to a website and looking at the rendered html. Not requesting the api.

Idk how you will get view time though

View time or view duration? View time could be just the current date and time, and the view duration could be every 5 seconds it sends a request to the server with the session id of the user.

I think you should do timezones and view times because it is relevant in cloud games.

huh, i just found out that you can view thumbnails of unshared projects
e.g.: https://uploads.scratch.mit.edu/get_image/project/1_480x360.png

You probably shouldn't store this data though, as it is not meant to be visible

I mean, you can get the actual content of unshared projects by remixing it...

no, you only get title, instructions and notes if im not mistaken

creating a remix requires you to send an actual post request containing the project json

when i tried this method, it resulted in empty projects with titles/notes/instructions that i didnt write, but nothing else

i was surprised at the thumbnail thing because in many cases, this gives more data than title/notes, and certain projects may contain private information. just like unshared project json, this should be put behind authentication

I think the authentication isn't there because it would make the responses slower which would add quickly

I am aware, although I thought they would've removed other unshared project viewing capabilities all at once. evidently, also through the remix method, this isn't true
