Making an alert using a prometheus type datasource you can select instant or range queries, both behave like it should.
When using the victoriametrics datasource, the instant and range selector can't be selected, they are non responsive, it always defaults to range query and this makes an error: /api/v1/query_range with "too many points for the given..."

This behavior also exists for recording rules and effects the Victorialogs data source as well. It can be worked around by adding a reduction and using the last function.
