Dow Jones Industrial Average and NASDAQ

Hi,
What exactly are the tickers for Dow Jones Industrial Average and NASDAQ ? I've tried a bunch of different possibilities but none has worked.

Basically go to finance.yahoo.com and look up what ever you want and it'll show symbol next to the name. i.e. Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) -- thus the symbol to use would be ^DJI
NOTE: When you have a special character like ^ you need to instead pass via command line or in the yaml file the symbol within double quotes. i.e.: "^DJI"

^IXIC
^GSPC
^VIX

are others you may want too.
