Upgrade Akash Blockchain to CosmosSDK47.

July 2nd, 2024:

• Finalized what needs to be inside the Akash SDK
• Will start working on upgrading the code and setting up a testnet for testing.

• At the stage of working on implementing migrations - (top priority)
• More updates in sig-chain meeting July 17th, 2024

July 23rd, 2024:

• migration is complete in code base.
• initial unit tests are passing. More unit tests are being added.
• network upgrade tests are coming next. The network upgrade tests are massive end to end tests.

Aug 6th, 2024:

• Unit tests and end to tests are in for migration.
• Core team is cleaning up code base.
• Testnet will be coming soon. Messages will be shared with test plan for phase 1.
• Documentation for the upgrade being worked on.
• Provider migration will be coming next during testnet phase 1.

September 10th, 2024

• Working through some CLI command issues.
• Proposal work from Akash core team: https://github.com/orgs/akash-network/discussions/673
• Sig-chain meeting moved back 2 weeks.
• Lots of changes are being documented for Testing.

• Code freeze is on for upgrade. This will unlock testing efforts.
• Proposal for work related to Cosmos SDK 47 Upgrade passed on chain: https://www.mintscan.io/akash/proposals/268
• Testing will start over the next 7-10 days.
• Further discussion had at the most recent sig-chain monthly meeting (October 8th, 2024)

November 6th, 2024:

• Testnet is spun up. Community members are getting into the testnet to test functions.
• Provider is not part of this testnet.
• Client testnet coming after this phase 1 is complete.

January 8th, 2025

• Testnet 5 was tested with functions using the CLI. Small bugs were addressed and this testnet phase was completed.
• Testnet 6 has been live and stable for over 30 days. Clients are updating code to be prepared for upgrade, insuring integrations work without issue post upgrade.
• Provider code is being migrated to new CosmosSDK 47. Testing of provider will happen in testnet-6.

• Core team is finalizing typescript testing for clients in Testnet-6.
• Testing of provider migrated code is being tested in Testnet-6.
• Next up:
• update sandbox after testing is complete.
• invite teams /users integrating with Akash to test their integrations.
• Network upgrade proposal on chain
