  2. TSC Action Items

    • GLOW Coordination (Bo)
      • Funding from DOE to make a more complete version COM-ED (Chicago)
      • May need support in the future
    • Model Converter support development strategy (Bo/Joseph)
      • Will be included with COM-ED
      • Hitachi has access to CYME and can be used for testing
  3. GridLAB-D status

    • Issues
      • 64 open issues, up from 59 two months ago
      • API needs to be updated, bug with defined statement, upgrade numpy
    • Pull requests
      • 2 open PRs (next release 4.3.10) Behavior model, random utility model, and learning models not implemented yet but planning to implement by end of Summer
      • Current Release 4.3.9 includes fixes to pypower solver, add weather data to pypower module, add geodata support to pypower module, pole model fixes, update for Darwin 23 support, add human behavior module (04/18/2024)
      • DOE REGROW project is studying advanced optimization techniques using new statistical models of extreme events.
      • PRs completed, will be added to 4.3.10
    • Press/Outreach
      • 45 minute lecture discussing the latest updates to the simulation tool, review some of the recent projects in which these capabilities have been employed, and present some of the results from these studies. Attendees will learn how to use Arras Energy and integrate it in their workflows through a variety of studies, starting with a simple local load modeling problems and a tariff design studies, through intermediate resilience analyses, up to geographically complex studies on large interconnections.(09/05/2024)

      • Funding seems to go towards private rather than private labs

      • Frank knows a hack (specific function in a call) to get around the problem, but need a reliable solution
      • Early stage using generative AI for users within GridLAB-D wikipedia (Hitachi)
      • Currently can answer basic questions but struggles with more complex questions
      • End goal for this application is for GLOW
      • API to pull object code to build/edit GLM code? Possibly a checker API. Could be a security issue and/or backfire
      • Possible and good idea, but no staff has started working
      • Security issues to code check/credential bypass

    • The project's functional architecture is built out in the LF Energy ArchiMate tool
    • An overview of the project's architecture and features defined
    • The project roadmap defined, which should address the following question
      • What does the next year look like in terms of additional features and use cases covered?
    • Community and contributor growth assessment
      • A credible plan for developing a thriving user community, in particular explanding the number of committers and contributors?
      • An outline of the plan for the project to complete the requirements for the Early Adoption stage
    • Receive the affirmative majority vote of the TAC
