Describe the Bug
GSmartControl after the latest update often freezes or takes a long time to load.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Open the program on windows (maybe one with an NVMe drive)
Additional Context
The update now supporting NVMe drives is fantastic and works well I just find we have to try reopening the program multiple times on various different systems that come into our repair shop. Perhaps its something to do with reading the NVMe SMART data
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
Is the freeze consistent on the same system? (that is, if you quit and/or restart and re-run GSmartControl, does it behave the same way?)
If, after a long loading time, you perform a refresh (ctrl-R), does it take a long time again?
Can you try running the program with --no-scan and see if it helps? The easiest way to do it is to create a shortcut to gsmartcontrol.exe, open its Properties, and add --no-scan to "Target". This will disable drive scanning on startup.
