Using electron for cross-platform compatibility is a good thing, but i personally dislike that trade-off that comes with it—namely, the inflated size and extra files that Etcher doesn't seem to need for its core functionality.
What if Etcher could be just its own thing—focused solely on its core tasks and essential cross-platform GUI?—without relying on other frameworks like electron?
