The BIDS schema validator is ready for general use. It has been the default web validator for two months, and the critical bugs seem to be ironed out. It's time to separate out the legacy validator.

Because the history of this repository is dominantly that of the legacy validator, we will be renaming this repository with its full history, issues and pull requests to bids-standard/legacy-validator. We will then push a fork to bids-standard/bids-validator and continue development of the schema validator, transferring schema-related issues to this repository.

The OpenNeuro team will be stepping down from maintaining the legacy validator. If someone wants to take on maintenance, we can help make that transition. Otherwise we will plan to retire the package and archive the repository.

As will probably be obvious, this migration has happened.

I have marked all issues that either are schema-specific or might still be issues in the schema validator with the schema label, and am transferring them to https://github.com/bids-standard/bids-validator/issues.

All other issues have been closed or marked legacy or miniqc. miniqc indicates that I think they're out-of-scope for the BIDS validator, but could be in-scope for a tool like miniqc, which can do deep validation of files that we're hesitant to do here due to complexity.
