Something similar than Preact https://preactjs.com/guide/v10/signals/#reading-signals-without-subscribing-to-them to get the signal's current value without subscribing.

effect(() => {
  // Update `count` without subscribing to `count`:
  count.value = count.peek() + delta.value;
});
