More functionality with regard to "owner" and sharing

So far, Homechart seems like a great fit for what I've been looking for to manage my household. There are a ton of features I love and a few that, with minimal changes/additions could make them a lot better!

Namely, it's the limitation of only having "Personal" or "Household" choices for "Owner". It would be amazing to be able to create custom groups such as "Parents" or others to better share and/or hide information.

Examples:

1. The adults in the household may have their own accounts to track data on a per person level, but then share that data to their spouse, but the kids don't need to see that information.

2. Kids don't need to see much about the other kids in the household, so only seeing things related to themselves would increase the personal privacy of the entire thing. Ex: tracked health info is only seen by the kid and their parent/s.

3. One divorcee uses Homechart, and the other parent has an account for the purpose of tracking and adding info about the kids such as calendar events, health info, and anything else that the owner of the Homechart household/other parent agrees to.

Because basically everything has a "Personal" and "Household" option, this seems to me that implementing custom groups of users wouldn't bee too complicated, but my experience with coding is also quite limited.

This could also create additional categories for selecting/showing events on calendars etc. such as, hiding tasks and/or calendars that are in certain "owner" groups, etc. This would mean being able to hide all but "Personal" tasks, seeing how chore lists are being completed by hiding all but a "Plan" and tasks in an "Owner" group.

I apologize in advance for being a bit long, but I really love Homechart, so I get excited about all the things it is and could be as it grows!

Hey there, these are great ideas. The sharing system definitely needs to be more granular. There's an existing issue, #189, that should be completed soon.

One thing with regards to groups is I'm not super convinced that there needs to be that kind of abstraction. Unless you have a huuuuuuge household, managing permissions between children shouldn't be that difficult. Adding a copy function should suffice. If you need more segregation of data, creating a new household is a better option.

Will definitely incorporate this feedback into #189, though.

Thank you for a swift response. I am always very glad to see when the developers/maintainers are closely involved. It means a lot. You guys have made a really solid piece of software and I am very happy to have found it. I've been looking for a long time for something like this that is also built to be self-hosted.

I guess a part of what I was talking about would be covered by #189. After reading about #189 I was to make sure I understand:

Currently if I assign a task to "child A" and then "child B" views tasks (both on the calendar, and in the "Plan" section) the tasks for "child A" are shown and can be edited if "child B" has "edit" permissions for the "Plan" section. And the "edit" permissions would be required for "child B" or "child A" to mark tasks complete themselves.

After #189 "child B" won't be able to see or (at least) edit tasks that are assigned to "child A" while retaining the "view" and/or "edit" permissions?

If that is the case, then there are only a couple parts that aren't covered by that I as talking about.

1. An expansion of the "Personal" and "Household"
   "ownership" selection.

Even just a third category of "Owners" which would be accessible to any accounts marked as "Owners" and not "Kids" would suffice in all but the most complex situations, which, unless I'm not understanding being a part of multiple households correctly, a separate household might make more sense.

2. Adding additional filter options for showing or hiding tasks assigned to a particular person (or hiding all tasks assigned to people who aren't the logged in user)
