Most websites use www as part of their website name (e.g. www.google.com).
And they redirect from the address without www to the address with www (e.g. google.com).
The c:geo website also works the same way.
We should therefore close this issue.
I wouldn't say "most" websites. There are many that redirect to www and many that redirect to the "naked" version without www. And some do not redirect and work with both or just one.
Using www has some benefits with respect to the scope of data like cookies. On the other hand probably most people never type www.
In #138 @shroudedcode suggested to switch from www.cgeo.org to cgeo.org for our website.
