Range selector for Time series

I would like to create a stock chart or line chart with data for a long period. Using a navigator/range slider underneath the graph the user can see a summary of the whole range and select a part of the range he is interested in to view in detail in the main graph window. Is this currently feasable with Chart.js or in combination with a plugin? I did a search but only found examples with other chart libraries than Chart.js.

I would like to keep using Chart.js because of the ease of use and history in usage I have with the package.
