VSCODE extension unable to open sandbox

But cannot connect.

I have tried reinstalling the extenstion same issue.

I do see the VM control panel in the side bar and the running tasks but I can't access the files in the workspace folder

Hello @gavan1 - Browser Sandboxes run in the browser, so aren't accessible through the VSCode extension.

To use CodeSandbox with VSCode, you'll need to spin up your project in a Devbox, which runs on a VM.

Which I did and confirmed to be in a DevBox.
Issue is not resolved.

Hello @gavan1 - I've checked on our side and the environment in your screenshots (tqpj9j) is a browser Sandbox, not Devbox.

If you're using a different environment, please let us know.

Thanks for the follow up James, I have attached screenshots of a newly created devbox, that is also shows up the vs code extension.

It seems vs code extensions launches an incorrect url instead to the one that is of the actual devbox.

I'de suggest an actual end to end test.
It seems that extension was not updated to launch devboxes.

Apologies @gavan1 - This was my error. But some outdated wording on the extension that we should look to update!

Are you using any form of VPN? Or do any other environments work?

If you go into the CodeSandbox web interface and start the environment, are you then able to connect in VS Code?

Try it out.

Very simple. Create a devbox using the browser and see if you can access the files via the extension.

It does @gavan1 - I'm not currently having any issues. Which is why I asked the questions hoping to identify anything that could be causing the problem on your side.

Are you able to edit the files? If so I will create a new account and try that method.
No no vpn , and no connection issue with other similar services.

Hey @gavan1 I did managed to finally replicate this when I tried to alter a file, but it was resolved when I accessed (and so started) the environment via the CodeSandbox UI. One that had been done, the integration worked as expected.

Much appreciated! I do have traffic rerouted on my external ports I am not behind a proxy. could you confirm what port is used be the extension?

I could try disabling routing.
