The internet is full of guides on how to code. Unfortunately, none of them have the words DON’T PANIC inscribed in large, friendly letters on the cover. Although you're probably expecting some concrete advice, let me take a more general approach: Think of this like any other problem you’ll face as a developer—because, in the end, every challenge boils down to figuring out where to begin. The key is learning how to approach problems methodically, do your research, and take that first step. So, start researching. A lot. Read articles, watch videos, listen to developers on YouTube—many of them dedicate their time to helping beginners. Check out books, forums, and documentation. But take all of this as guidance, not gospel. There’s no single "holy grail" roadmap that works for everyone. What’s your expected outcome? Ideally, you’ll gain a clearer idea of why you want to code, what you want to build, a general sense of the technologies and tools you'll use, and a roadmap for your learning journey. Or maybe you'll realize coding isn’t for you—and that's okay too. Remember, learning any new skill is a process. Some studies suggest that toddlers fall thousands of times before they master walking. And yet, no one—after the first, second, or even hundredth fall—says, "This kid is dumb; they'll never walk." Learning to code is no different. You will struggle. You will make mistakes. And that’s exactly how you get better. The only real shortcut is showing up every day and putting in the practice. For something more specific: Find a course (start with a free one, and if it makes sense, consider a premium one) for the language you’re interested in. For the most commonly used languages, you’ll definitely find structured courses that help you organize your learning path. AI tools can also assist in personalizing your learning experience. Whatever roadblocks you hit—especially in the beginning—remember that there are tutorials, guides, best practices, and community-driven solutions (documentation, YouTube, forums) for almost everything. Keep your head up. Take care. |

Buddy, programming is hard, and that's okay. You don't have to understand everything right away. This field is built on learning as you go, and we've all been through the same stage, step by step. You'll find that things will start to make sense. Pick one path or one course, finish it, and then move on to the next. Start with the basics first, and take things very slowly. Even if you spend 12 hours on one topic at the beginning, believe me, it's completely normal. May Allah grant you success. |
