I don't know how long many of you have been in the crypto space but Dark Wallet seemed to be the most promising tool for a long time.

However, as issue #266 states this project is either dead or on life support for a long time.

What I am curious to know is why?
The current wallet has over 17 BTC worth almost 200,000 USD by today's price.1

The current wallet has over 17 BTC ...

It is a multisig address suggesting the project creators (and perhaps others?) need to coordinate to spend funds. See my comment here for more info.
