INSTALL

Install a few basic dependencies:

  # apt-get install python-pip python-twisted
  # pip install ecdsa
  # apt-get install cython

Then install pyzmq.

On Debian stable (wheezy), cython version is 0.15.1, which is insufficient
to build the latest development version from git. Therefore, build a
pre-packaged version (download from https://github.com/zeromq/pyzmq/releases).

  $ wget "https://github.com/zeromq/pyzmq/releases/download/v14.1.1/pyzmq-14.1.1.tar.gz"
  $ tar xf pyzmq-14.1.1.tar.gz
  $ cd pyzmq-14.1.1
  $ python setup.py configure --zmq=/usr/local/
  # python setup.py install

On Debian testing (jessie), a more up-to-date version of cython is
available, therefore it is possible to build from git:

  $ git clone https://github.com/zeromq/pyzmq
  $ cd pyzmq
  $ python setup.py configure --zmq=/usr/local/
  # python setup.py install

Change the path /usr/local if you have zeromq installed elsewhere (for
example, /home/user/usr/.

It may also be possible to istall using pip (PyPI).

Fially, install the package:

  # python setup.py install
