Hey,

first: Thanks for this nice tutorial! Does it work for you? Did you have any problems after changing the logo?

I have some questions regarding your blog article (https://blog.x4m3.rocks/post/thinkpad-custom-boot-logo.html): One sub-heading is "get the gif file to use" but the file name extension you're using is JPG.

So, my questions:

  • What is the actual image format, GIF or JPG?
  • What is the actual file suffix, GIF or JPG (and could/should the file ending with JPG contain a GIF image or JPG?)
  • Why do you have two logo files?

Best regards
Matthias

hi, thanks glad you liked it! yeah it worked fine on my x1 carbon gen 3.

  • the actual file i used was a GIF.
  • the filename is JPG, i just copied the .GIF to the .JPG, dunno why but it works that way.
  • i also have no idea why there needs to be 2 logo files, iirc with only one logo file it didn't work.
