Our goal is to "prove out this strategy, not necessarily measure the impact for a single form in production".
0781
Not a lot of combs
Good for proving out the strategy (stakeholders aligned)
Unfortuntately would have to wait until March, when the new form is supposed to go live.
4142
More combs
Might be good for proving out the strategy (depending on who we need to work with).
High impact for MAS.
Shannon -- the from is from 2018 and needs updating -- might be VFF team we need to work with.
0995/0996
More combs
Might be good for proving out the strategy (depending on who we need to work with).
High impact for MAS
Shannon -- might require The Board weighing in/approving. Carolyn -- recommend we stay away because of this, and the fact that it's still early in our validation efforts.
Office of Mission Support (Nancy, Yvette) handles form programming and fillable fields
Major revision underway combining Form 0995 into 526 EZ and aiming for February completion.
Implementation will be phased over 3 years
Form 0995 will continue to exist but no longer for compensation/pension
Identified solution: we can create separate versions without OCR boxes specifically for VA.gov
Requirements:
Must maintain exact formatting/layout
Can replace OCR boxes with fillable fields
Cannot combine or modify rows
Priority forms identified:
Form 4142
Form 0781 (recently approved for 3 more years – this is Kayce’s recommendation)
Process will require coordination between VA.gov team and forms team for updates
Teams message from Katherine King
"The 526EZ from va.gov does not usually go through MAS processing so focusing on that form first would likely not impact MAS very much. On a MAS standpoint, based on volume of CMP receipts of forms from va.gov in December, it looks like the 0995 or 0996 would be good ones.
"The 4142 would also be a good one based on volume of receipts. There is currently a workaround for 4142s received with the "see a" address, but having the full address could improve processing as the work around will not be needed."

The 0781 seems like the obvious choice given that we have alignment from Kayce, DBEX Carbs, and @shannonkford -- however we'll have to wait until March for the new "automated" form to go live.
In the mean time we can continue pushing forward the 4142, 0995, 0996, and learn more about the LOE and additional blockers with those.
Work with Shannon and Jen on this, see:
