Variable is empty but also not?

Hello! I'm getting the following error messages:

error: Failed to turn `` into a value of type f64

Here's the code:

My calendar works fine and adding (label :text "${curr_day}") prints the correct day number. Why am I getting this error message?

No initial value so if the window renders before the first poll the error appears, you can set one or just ignore these (unless they appear even after the first poll)

Oh, I thought that it immediately picks up the first value of the poll. Thank you for the information!
