ESP8266 Male-Female Connectors

Hi all, I am working on a temperature sensing circuit with ESP8266 with WIFI and measuring 4 walls and 1 roof temperature. Since the jumper/dupont are very short like 40cm, is it advisable to use larger ones like 3-5 meters from roles and use crimpers to join male-female holdings and connect to breadboard? Also what are the possible suggestion you would give from experience to test such a use case to measure wall temperature recordings whole day without burning or wiring issues?
