What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

  1. I tagged some files. In my case I changed the name of the tag to "!", an exclamation mark.
  2. I exported settings and made a zip file on the desktop
  3. I imported the settings from the zip file to new iteration of Files, and I was dissappointe that no files are tagged in the new iteration of Files.
  4. It would be used to export all the settings including tagged files (and tagged directories too)

This feature would be handy and it is needed to make a full export of files.

Thanks for the feedback, The tags are stored on the file/folders themselves, the index json file is included with the export option.

  • Can you open the export zip and check filetags.json
  • Can you please upload the debug.log file (DON'T copy and paste the text) directly to GitHub (email attachments don't work) . You can get it in Files settings > About > Open log folder.

Do the files show as tagged if you open the actual location in Files?
