Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Currently, the training pipeline always runs a training job on Vertex. However, running training jobs locally might be more convenient (and sometimes necessary) at early stages of model development.

Describe the solution you'd like

  • Modify the wrapper script to support both local and remote training
  • Support specifying how to run the training pipeline (locally or on Vertex)
