  1. Can canadian municipal governments make use if this as template?
  1. Where can I find doc on technical architecture?
  • e.g I see gatsby is being used for static site generation, is there documentation on how to create taxonomy, and templates for each types of content using this current template/framework?
  1. How is the dynamic part of content handled in this system? Some municipal content need to be dynamic.

  2. How are forms submission from citizens handled? I may need to wire forms data to some backend.

  3. Is there plans to move to "Hugo" as static site generator like in US gov?

Hey @anborg, thanks for showing interest in aurora-website.

Can canadian municipal governments make use if this as template?

As you found on the linked page, yes! Everyone is free to use the Aurora Design system, that even includes repurposing the website to fit your needs.

As for technical documentation or how to enhance the functionality of a gatsbyjs static site, I would recommend checking out the documentation gatsby provides. Gatsby has thousands of plugins so I am sure it can achieve what you and your users need.

There are currently no plans for the GCTools team to start using Hugo.

Hopefully that answered your questions and gave you all the information you needed.
