Backup Home Assistant configuration automatically

Right now I have a manual task to back up the HA configuration by hand every time I do my monthly maintenance. That's annoying. There are plugins that allow backing up to an SMB share or some other volume.

Alternatively, I could run an automation to create a nightly or weekly backup (see https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/backup/) and then have the backup server login and grab a copy. Or use a plugin like Samba backups and mount a share that gets backed up.
